Recent Lobapalooza was a family outing for Robbins family

Holly Robbins had a busy final afternoon at the recent Lobapalooza Tournament at The Club’s tennis facility – and she wasn’t playing.
Holly was done with her matches but was watching husband Randy playing in the men’s 4.0 open and son Riley playing in the men’s singles consolation final on adjoining courts.
“I was having fun. I was thinking this is the first time in awhile,” said Holly, who asked they play on courts next to each other so she could watch.
Father and son tried to keep an eye on each other’s matches – but were also busy chasing tennis balls.
“It was hard. I was wanting to watch him,” said Randy, “especially when I knew he was trying to break to win the match.”
Riley won 7-5, 6-4 and his dad lost – but Randy captured the 7.0 mixed doubles, playing with Brooke Williams (in photo at left), who was Riley’s mixed doubles partner when they played for Shallowater High School.
Riley – now a freshman at Dallas Baptist (and in action in photo below left) – also made it to the finals of the men’s open doubles.
Randy played tennis growing up in Lubbock.
He focused on baseball at Monterey High School, playing for the legendary Bobby Moegle.
Randy started playing tennis after a 35-year break and the whole family took it up.
