Player registration is now open for the PGA Jr. League ... being offered for the first time at LCC this year for ages 13 and under.
"We're looking for youth golfers to come out to the golf course for a fun social experience," said Travis Wright, (in photo at left) assistant professional at LCC and captain of this year's team.
Here are the key details:
* The program will be in June and July on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
* Cost is $325 for each golfer.
* Registration is open until April 30. Click on this link to register. You'll need to enter LCCJR in the space that asks for code.
* Golfers get home and away jerseys, PGA Jr. League t-shirt and hat. There will be a end-of-the-season pizza party. We can put the logo on clothes and balls.
* There will be six practices and five matches against teams representing the Rawls Course at Texas Tech, Hillcrest CC and LakeRidge CC. Practices will be at LCC with two matches at LCC and other matches at other courses. There will be a post season depending on how the team does.
Also, the $100 North Texas PGA fee is waived for your golfer if they sign up for the PGA Jr. League.
"We're also looking for sponsors who will get their business logo on the jerseys and their support will provide golf balls for the young golfers and the pizza party," he said.
Parents are also needed on match days to help with keeping score and other duties.
Financial assistance is available for players who meet criteria.
